Suhr Custom Carve Top Guitars

   The Carve Top came to being originally when John Suhr built the now famous Pensa-Suhr guitar that Mark Knopfler played through most of the late-80's and the early-90's.

   A deluxe version of the Custom Standard with the ¾" thick figured Maple top, the extra thickness adds a little more weight to the guitar but also punch and brilliance to the acoustic tone.

   The carving on the top is truly something to behold as it adds a luxurious element while bringing out the natural beauty of the top. We don't build many of these as the cost of the thick figured Maple can be prohibitive to many, but for those who have the means, nothing but a Carve Top will do.
