The Suhr Exotic guitars are special one-offs featuring gorgeous and rare exotic woods, amazingly detailed inlay work and the superb world-class workmanship and tonal quality that you've come to expect from the master builders at Suhr.
The Exotic guitars will be produced on a one-off basis depending on the availability of special woods such as one-piece Quilted Maple, exceptionally figured Koa, rare Zebrawood, luxurious Cocobolo, stunning Burled Maple, and beautiful Bubinga, just to name a few.
These are truly amazing woods that are extremely difficult to source on a consistent basis, so when we find 'em, we get 'em with a special one-of-a-kind Exotic guitar in mind.
Tonally, the aforementioned exotic woods are hardwoods that are dense with great sustain, excellent punch, and acoustic clarity and detail. As beautiful as these woods are visually, they are also great sounding woods that will provide you with new sonic timbres to experiment with in your musical endeavors.
We build these guitars to be played and enjoyed as superb musical instruments, not kept in a glass case or the vault as an investor's collector piece. Althought the rarity of these special guitars will indeed make them collectible, we would not build them unless they met our stringent standards for quality of tone and playability.
